The Chinese Group of lABSE was established in 1957 and has been chaired by Academician Guohao Li (1957-2002), Academician Lizhu Fan (2002-2010), and Professor Yaogun Ge (2010-2018).

Currently, the Chinese Group is chaired by Prof. Limin Sun, Prof. Dong Xu is the Vice-Chairman, Associate Prof. Ye Xia is the Secretary General, and Assistant Prof. Mingming Song is the Secretary. At present, the Chinese Group has 167 individual members and 21 group members, totaling 191members, ranking sixth among the 56 lABSE national groups.

The goal of the Chinese Group of lABSE is to establish a professional academic organization in the field of bridge in China and to build a platform for domestic and international exchange. Since its establishment, the Chinese Group has regularly held academic exchange activities, organized domestic members to participate in the lABSE annual meetings and academic conferences, and promoted the development of the bridge field in China.
